As a Controls Project Engineer within Vanderlande’s Airport and Parcel Solutions (APS) business unit, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems that drive the efficiency of parcel handling projects. Your expertise in controls will be vital in ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software components, enabling reliable and optimized performance across highly complex material handling systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and execution of control systems for parcel handling systems, ensuring the systems meet technical and functional requirements.
- Develop hardware and software solutions (including PLC systems) that ensure seamless integration of control components with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers, to ensure control systems are aligned with project goals and customer requirements.
- Create detailed project plans, manage schedules, and coordinate team activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Document system specifications, interface designs, and test plans for Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and Commissioning Acceptance Tests (CAT).
- Oversee testing and validation processes to ensure the control systems meet customer expectations and performance standards.
- Manage the configuration and integration of software throughout all project phases, ensuring alignment with the overall system architecture.
- Drive standardization efforts for control system platforms and processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in industrial controls and PLC programming, particularly Siemens, within material handling solutions.
- Strong understanding of control systems design, hardware/software integration, and system commissioning.
- Proven experience managing control system projects from design to customer handover.
- Willingness to travel internationally for project execution and oversight.
