Junior Project Manager

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, on time, and within budget. This role involves planning, executing, monitoring, and delivering projects while effectively managing cross-functional teams, addressing challenges, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

You should bring proven expertise in project management, adaptability across various industries and project types, and a strong ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve outstanding results and exceptional customer experiences. The role

While responsibilities may vary based on experience, all Project Managers are expected to excel in the following areas:

  • Project Planning
    • Define project scopes, objectives, and comprehensive plans.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish priorities and deliverables.
    • Identify resource requirements and manage their allocation effectively.
  • Execution and Monitoring
    • Lead cross-functional project teams and oversee activities.
    • Track progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Ensure deliverables meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Provide regular updates on progress, risks, and milestones.
    • Build strong relationships and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
    • Address concerns and manage expectations proactively.
  • Budget and Resource Management
    • Monitor and control project budgets to stay within financial limits.
    • Optimize resource utilization and adjust plans as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate project records for compliance and reference.
    • Prepare and deliver detailed updates and performance reports to leadership.
  • Subject Matter Expertise
    • Utilize domain-specific knowledge to inform project decisions.
    • Navigate industry-specific challenges (e.g., IT, software development, business transformation, or finance).
    • Apply industry best practices and standards tailored to the project’s needs.

What you bring

  • Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field. Entry-level certifications (e.g., APM PFQ or Prince2 Foundation) are preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience and success in a related role, such as Project Coordinator or Project Support Assistant.
  • Key Skills: Foundational knowledge of project management principles, including schedule development, proactive monitoring, risk management, task prioritization, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Exposure to specific types of projects, such as IT support rollouts or event management, with limited independent accountability.
  • Budget Management: Experience managing budgets of up to £250K, typically for small-scale projects.
  • Supervision Level: Operates under the close guidance of Senior Project Managers or Team Leads.
  • Project Scope: Manages small projects or designated workstreams/work packages within larger projects.
