The internship

Are you a (graduate) student, passionate about trade marketing and looking for an experience in an international environment?

The EMEA Export & GDF OpCo has around 100 employees and can be characterized as dynamic, professional, ambitious, as well as truly diverse and international; with team members based all over the globe and from over 25 different nationalities.

The Global Duty Free & Africa Export team is responsible for the development and roll-out of the sales and marketing plans for our duty free (airlines, cruise lines, military, ferries and border retail) and export markets. In close collaboration with our partners, we plan, organize, and evaluate all commercial activities of our brands in the markets.

The (Trade) Marketing internship plays a vital role to support this, with responsibilities ranging from co-developing consumer promotions, working on retail activations, permanent visibility plans and trade show organisation support.

The internship is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and starts around January 1st 2025 for the duration of 6 months.

Please note that all interns must be enrolled at a university for the entire duration of the internship. You will need to provide a proof of enrolment with your application. Applications without this will not be considered.

Your responsibilities

In this internship you will be responsible for supporting the execution of the (trade) marketing calendars with our duty free and African export partners, by:

  • Organizing the execution of ATL/BTL campaigns, retail execution and trade show organisation support
  • Closely collaborating with the partners to optimize Point of Sale Materials usage in on- and off-trade
  • Growing brands and the categories within assigned markets
  • Continue to drive digital transformation of the marketing tool kit
  • Supporting the further roll-out of our digital salesforce automation tool in Africa to optimize resources

The terms of employment

  • Your starting date is 1 February 2025
  • The internship is fulltime
  • The duration of the internship is 5 or 6 months (in consultation with your internship supervisor)
  • It is a theoritical-oriented internship
  • You will be based in Schiphol, Amsterdam
  • During your internship, you have the flexibility to work remotely
  • You will receive an internship fee of €650 gross pm based on 40 hours per week (when you start at the 1st of January 2025).
  • You will enjoy 2 vacation days per month (based on fulltime)
  • If you do not have a student OV product, your commuting expenses will be fully reimbursed

The unique you!

You are a student in a relevant field of study and you have the following:

  • Ability to prioritize and to work in a structured way on projects both in a team and individually
  • Exceptional team player capabilities and eagerness to learn and take ownership
  • A pragmatic approach with a can-do mentality; solution orientated.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in French and/or Spanish a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; PowerBI base knowledge a plus (trainings to improve offered)

Conditions of HEINEKEN

  1. You are enrolled at an educational institution.
  2. In the case of non-EU nationality, you must be registered as an intern with a Dutch educational institution, from which we receive proof of enrollment for the current academic year from you.
  3. In case of EU nationality, you may also be registered as an intern at educational institutions outside the EU.
  4. Living in the Netherlands during internship (HEINEKEN does not facilitate housing).
