Are you ready to lead in a dynamic, innovative, and market-leading environment? Vanderlande has an exciting opportunity for a talented Lead Content Engineer to join our team!

This is your chance to guide a team, drive innovation, and directly impact the design and automation of logistics systems used worldwide in airports, parcel, and warehousing solutions.

What will you be doing?
As a Lead Content Configuration Engineer, you will play a key role in the Engineering Support Office (ESO) team, where you’ll lead the development of 3D building blocks that automate the design and configuration of our systems. Working with products like Loop Sorters and ASRS solutions, your work will support Configure-to-Order (CTO) processes, ensuring efficient and accurate project execution.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading development engineering software programs for MDG’s Loop Sorters and ASRS, turning roadmaps into actionable work packages.
  • Designing and creating new 3D content aligned with product documentation and stakeholder needs.
  • Optimizing existing content and ensuring compliance with a shared architectural standard.
  • Acting as the bridge between stakeholders and your team, dividing larger tasks into manageable actions.
  • Mentoring and guiding content engineers to create solutions that are user-friendly and maintainable.
  • Consulting on module decomposition and integration into the component library for improved reusability.
  • Ensuring smooth updates and communication across the PLM environment and stakeholders.
  • Training and supporting end-users on the building block libraries, and collaborating with architects on new requirements.
  • By leading continuous improvements in ESoT functionality, you’ll help maximize the value of our automation tools to create predictable, repeatable project executions.

What do we ask from you?
We are looking for a skilled engineer with strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a passion for innovation. Specifically, you should have:

  • A Bachelor’s or University degree in a technical field such as IT, engineering, or mechatronics.
  • 3-5 years of experience in project execution, ideally in an industrial automation environment.
  • A background in IT, engineering, or mechatronics, with a strong affinity for engineering software and programming.
  • Experience with modularization and standardization principles.
  • The ability to translate customer requirements into intuitive, user-friendly solutions.
  • Analytical and structured approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Experience managing or guiding a team.
  • Proficiency in English.

About the team
You will be part of our multidisciplinary Engineering Support Office (ESO) and collaborate closely with the Airport and Parcel Solutions (APS) and Warehousing (WS) Technical Product Management departments. These teams consist of product managers and subject matter experts who bridge departments to ensure product and process alignment across the company. At Vanderlande, you’ll develop, sell, and deliver solutions with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.
