Consultant Procurement & Supply Chain

Are you interested in working as a consultant? Do you get excited about driving change in companies in the areas of procurement, contract management, and supply chain management? Do you want to deepen your knowledge in digitalization, ESG, and strategic issues? And do you want to work in teams with various clients in different sectors? We are looking for enthusiastic colleagues who want to develop themselves in a multidisciplinary way and enjoy working with both clients and colleagues.

Your challenges

  • Contribute to streamlining the procurement and optimizing supply chains.
  • Support the improvement, digitalization, and implementation of procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Develop ESG procurement strategies.
  • Create clear and visually appealing analyses and reports to adopt new strategies, tools, or process improvements.
  • Perform operational project management tasks such as conducting interviews, coordinating client meetings, and preparing steering committees.
  • Be curious and eager to develop yourself in both ‘soft and hard skills’ by attending training sessions and proactively contributing to initiatives within and outside projects (e.g., team days or proposition development).

This is what you bring

  • A relevant completed WO master’s degree and possibly some work experience.
  • Active involvement alongside your studies (e.g., part-time job, committee/board year, volunteer work).
  • Interest in projects in the areas of optimization, implementation, strategy, and analytics and change management.
  • Some relevant working experience.
  • Proficiency in both Dutch and English and comfortable communicating in both languages within and outside the organization.
  • Affinity with procurement or supply chain (or both!).
  • You enjoy working in groups, take responsibility for your own tasks, are proactive, and have strong communication skills.
* These requirements give a direction of the profile we are looking for for this position. Do you not meet all the requirements but think this is the position for you? Then we kindly invite you to apply.

What will you do in this position?

You will join the Procurement & Supply Chain team consisting of 28 enthusiastic colleagues. You will work on a project basis, with projects ranging from 6 weeks to 9 months. Your week consists of home working days, client days, and office days, with Friday as a fixed team day. Together with your colleagues, you work for a wide variety of clients. You help clients optimize their procurement and supply chain organizations, from strategy to implementation. This allows you to quickly learn how to get the best out of yourself and use your talents for the benefit of the assignment.

Our goal is to enable our clients to optimize the value of their supplier network and mitigate supply risks.

As a consultant, you support various assignments such as:

  • Conducting cost reduction studies for manufacturing companies.
  • Performing maturity scans for procurement and supply chain organizations.
  • Developing and implementing decarbonization strategies.
  • Implementing procurement and supply chain tools.
  • Setting up contract management organizations.
“You are expected to structure complex Supply Chain & Procurement issues and translate them into understandable language with concrete actions for the client. This makes the work very educational. Moreover, the atmosphere in our team is very pleasant, with room for personal conversations in addition to serious work.” Rinke de Jonge Consultant – Procurement & Supply Chain

As a consultant, you work with people from our team and other teams within KPMG on client assignments, develop yourself by attending training sessions within our training curriculum, and work on your personal goals with your development manager and buddy. Personal growth and developing your own interests are of great importance. You can choose internal or external training sessions from our training curriculum or suggest training sessions that match your interests but are not yet offered. There is room for proactivity and your own enthusiasm in and outside assignments, allowing everyone to make their workweek as enjoyable as possible.

This is what we offer

  • Competitive salary, a bonus, a fixed expense allowance and a working from home allowance.
  • 30 vacation days (on a full-time basis) and the option to buy more days or sell your vacation days.
  • At KPMG we work hybrid, so you can work from home or at the office.
  • A completely furnished home office.
  • A lease car + NS business card or a mobility budget.
  • A laptop and iPhone which also can be used privately.
  • Pension accrual without a compulsory personal contribution.
  • Choice to pick from different courses which contribute to your own personal and professional development.
  • Diversity networks in the areas of pride, gender, ability, cultural diversity, and generations that regularly organize various activities to celebrate differences!
  • Focus on well-being! There is a gym at the Amstelveen office or you can get a discount for a gym near your house and you get access to different health and/or vitality programs.
  • ‘Together’ is one of our core values. So you can count on different social activities, like team events, drinks with colleagues and events with all your KPMG colleagues.

Application procedure

Step 1. Your application

Have you applied? Then you will receive an invitation for the KPMG Talent Pitch immediately after your application. In the Talent Pitch, we not only get to know you, but you also get to know us better. We will also give you a tour of the world of KPMG. During the pitch, you will complete a personality questionnaire and take an aptitude test.

Step 2. The first interview

After completing the KPMG Talent Pitch, we will invite you for a first interview with a recruiter. In some cases, a colleague from the relevant department will also be present at the interview. This interview is a mutual introduction, where you also get the chance to ask all the questions you probably have.

Step 3. Follow-up interview

Did you have a positive conversation and are you still enthusiastic? If we also see a match, a second meeting will follow. In this second interview, we will delve deeper into the role and the substantive themes you will be dealing with. You may be asked to prepare a business case for the interview. Sometimes there is a final interview.

Step 4. Offer

Is there a match? Then we will make you an offer and hopefully you will start at KPMG soon. The offer will not only include your salary but also all our employment conditions, such as your pension, vacation days, and more! Do you agree with our offer? Then we congratulate you as our new colleague and take the last step.

Step 5. Screening

We want to be an integral and reliable organization in all respects, so we screen everyone who comes to work with us. Validata conducts this screening and checks references, among other things. Everything in order? The path to a great career at KPMG is open to you. You will then start with the onboarding program.
