Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:

The Senior Manager Retail Finance acts as a financial consultant and business partner to the Global Retail team by giving recommendations to enable and drive fact-based decision-making. The Senior Manager Retail Finance supports and steers the business to achieve (financial) targets as well as the strategy based on the analysis of the major financial KPIs. This is supported by the creation of transparency about business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partnering
  • Act as the financial business partner for the Global Retail Sr. Management and their teams
  • Drive deep-dives to advise Sr. Management about opportunities and risks in reaching commercial ambitions within global retail business
  • Develop and implement adequate communication packages to present derived results, recommendations, and solutions
  • Act as a facilitator between Global Sales Finance, Business Partners, and finance key counterparts in the markets to support market needs
  • Lead medium- to large-sized projects in partnership with the Global Retail team, implement findings, and ensure sustainability of achievements
Innovation & Strategy
  • Design, develop, and implement state-of-the-art analytic tools (PowerBI)
  • Define and ensure sustainable implementation of an innovative KPI framework combining financial and non-financial KPIs
  • Significantly contribute to the achievement of the Retail and Sales Finance strategy
  • Develop new processes, standards, or operational plans and deliver results with direct impact on the department and overall targets
  • Go after efficiency and simplification in analysis, reporting, and communication. Less is more
  • Promote and implement benchmarking and best practice sharing within Sales Finance
Reporting, Analysis & Expertise
  • Lead the financial review of worldwide retail channel activities to conduct the overall annual financial goal of the company
  • Create transparency in business performance and profitability to support fact-based decision-making, covering Retail KPIs and store P&L
  • Identify opportunities and risks, derive solutions, and facilitate related decisions
  • Drive and ensure solid reporting set up in a dynamic environment, ensuring legalities and confidentiality requirements are met
  • Ensure that Retail standardized reporting and ad hoc analysis is consistent with the Corporate FP&A team
  • Ensure Retail Finance is compliant with all applicable group policies

  • Global and Regional Retail Sales teams on all hierarchical levels

  • Global data management team
  • Other functions in DtC (e.g. Real Estate, Product Planning)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Comprehensive Retail business understanding combined with excellent finance and analytical skills
  • High degree of customer orientation, ability to see the customer’s point of view and to bring opinions of his/her own
  • Thorough understanding of the complexity, interactions, and dynamics of an international company
  • Ability to manoeuvre in consistently changing and fast-pacing environment
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally and understanding of external business drivers
  • Strength in conceptualization and frame-working
  • Excellent communication skills for persuasion and convincing others
  • Strong result orientation and pro-activity – a hands-on approach
  • Ability to think and act strategically and develop operational plans
  • Excellent finance skills and solid skills in building effective simulations
  • Excellent knowledge of PowerBI; skills to develop state-of-the-art dashboards based on a large amount of data from several sources; basic SQL knowledge
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; analytical skills, managing large data quantities from multiple sources

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration/Finance/Controlling
  • Comprehensive understanding of system landscape
  • 5-10 years working experience in Finance department
