In this role, you’ll be a key support for the underwriting process, contributing to client service excellence, smooth operations, and impactful results.

Your Role and Impact

As an Assistant Underwriter, you’ll collaborate with experienced underwriters, handling critical administrative tasks that allow them to focus on strategic underwriting. You’ll help manage new and renewal business, endorsements, and cancellations—keeping the underwriting process seamless and efficient. With a “first time right” approach, you’ll help deliver outstanding service and uphold our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Underwriting support: Process new policies, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations with accuracy and speed. Assist in preparing offers, client screenings, and using technical pricing models. Manage essential documentation and liaise with intermediaries and brokers to ensure smooth communication. Support with technical pricing administration and compliance-related queries. Keep underwriting systems updated and documents well-organized.

• Client relationships & service excellence: Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients. Address client inquiries professionally, delivering high-quality and personalized service.

• Data analysis & reporting: Conduct data analysis to uncover trends and insights in insurance applications and claims. Contribute to creating insightful underwriting reports and analyses. Monitor premium payments and underwriting performance to help optimize outcomes.

• Team collaboration & organizational support: Engage in knowledge-sharing and participate in company-wide projects. Facilitate smooth communication between departments and help resolve issues effectively. Support daily operational needs to empower the Underwriting team.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Education: HBO thinking level.
• Experience: While direct underwriting experience isn’t required, industry exposure is a plus. Your enthusiasm and eagerness to learn will set you apart.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent organization and multitasking abilities, a proactive approach, and fluency in Dutch and English. Familiarity with computer systems and underwriting tools is essential.
• Personal traits: A positive, collaborative team player with a client-focused mindset and a genuine passion for service excellence.
