At the heart of our mission is a commitment to innovation, sustainability, and social responsibility. We are seeking a passionate and skilled ESG Manager to join our team and help shape our Sustainability / Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy as we grow responsibly.

Role Overview

As an ESG Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving our sustainability initiatives, ensuring compliance with ESG standards, and embedding best practices into our operations and culture. You will collaborate across departments to develop, implement, and communicate strategies addressing our environmental impact, social responsibilities, and governance priorities. You will report to the Management Board member responsible for impact, and the role will be based in Amsterdam.

Key Responsibilities

1. ESG Strategy and Implementation
  • Support the development and execution of the company’s internal ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Identify and prioritize material ESG issues through stakeholder engagement and risk assessments.
  • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives, including carbon reduction strategies, circular economy programs, and diversity & inclusion efforts.
2. ESG Reporting and Compliance
  • Lead the preparation of ESG disclosures, including sustainability reports (e.g., TCFD, B-Corp, SBTi) and other stakeholder-specific reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ESG regulations, frameworks, and voluntary commitments.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress toward ESG goals.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with product, finance, operations, and HR to integrate ESG principles into the company operations.
  • Engage with legal, finance, and investors to ensure transparent communication with stakeholders on ESG performance and risks.
4. Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor global ESG trends and best practices to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build ESG awareness and capability across the organization.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, business, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, or corporate responsibility roles, preferably in the tech industry.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, UN SDGs).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ESG data collection, analysis, and reporting processes.
  • Excellent project management skills with a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex ESG concepts to diverse audiences.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Familiarity with tech industry and real assets-specific ESG issues, such as corporate carbon accounting.
  • Proficiency in ESG data management software and tools.
  • Experience with Novata is a plus.
