About the Role

Looking to work during the day and still experience the excitement of the hospitality industry? As a Culinary Advisor at Sligro, you can fully indulge your passion for delicious food and drink while maintaining a healthy private life.

Our self-service wholesale store in Den Haag Kerketuinen is daily visited by our mostly hospitality industry customers, not only because of our wide assortment of high-quality food products but also because of the knowledge, advice, and menu tips from our food professionals.

In your role, you often work in our ‘Proeftuin’, a professional cooking studio centrally located in our wholesale store. Here, you advise customers and answer their questions about cooking methods, kitchen equipment, wine/food pairings, food trends, and more. By conducting cooking demonstrations, you allow customers to smell, taste, and discover original preparations and both existing and new products.

Your main tasks include:

• Providing expert culinary advice and inspiration to our customers
• Conducting tastings during themed and customer days
• Participating in events as part of the Sligro Culinary Team
• Working collaboratively with colleagues from different departments
• Assisting other fresh departments as needed

This full-time position involves working five days a week, with workdays and times agreed upon mutually.

• An excellent salary according to CAO GIL and travel allowance (from 11 km one way)
• An initial contract for eight months, converting to a permanent contract upon mutual satisfaction
• 25 vacation days with a full-time (36-hour) contract
• Stock and profit-sharing plan upon getting a permanent contract

What We Are Looking For

To successfully fulfill the role of Culinary Advisor, it's important that you possess the following:

• Extensive experience as a Chef in the hospitality industry
• Strong communication skills, with a preference for experience in presenting and conducting demonstrations, which you can also learn on the job
• Willingness to work on Saturdays
