Store IT Lifecycle Management

Working with and for a smile

Being the most customer-oriented company. That is our ambition. We want to surprise customers and exceed expectations so customers enjoy shopping with us. With over 700 Jumbo stores in the Netherlands and Belgium and the possibility of home delivery via jumbo.com, we work towards that ambition every day. Together, we strive to win the customer for us, that is what we aim for at Jumbo.

As an IT Consultant Life Cycle Management, you make an important contribution to Jumbo by strategically overseeing the lifecycle of in-store IT infrastructure. Your role ensures optimal planning, acquisition, maintenance IT equipment, with a focus on asset and security management, budget control, and vendor coordination. You are a key contact for internal stakeholders, facilitating alignment on IT objectives, while also managing supplier relationships and ensuring compliance with contracts. Through regular store visits, you evaluate equipment needs, address functionality issues, and gather insights to enhance operational efficiency. Additionally, you identify improvements within the lifecycle management process, monitor expenditures against budget, and provide timely advice and reporting on risks and opportunities, supporting innovation across Jumbo’s store IT infrastructure.

Get to work! This is what you will do

Your workday as an IT Consultant Life Cycle Management at Jumbo:

  • 8:30 – 9:00: Review emails and prioritize tasks for the day, addressing urgent vendor and stakeholder messages.
  • 9:00 – 10:00: Attend a cross-functional meeting with IT enablement teams and Service Delivery Managers to discuss ongoing projects and alignment with in-store technology strategies.
  • 10:00 – 12:00: Visit a nearby store to assess IT infrastructure, evaluating the functionality of key equipment such as POS systems and gathering feedback from the store team.
  • 12:00 – 13:00: Lunch break.
  • 13:00 – 14:00: Collaborate with the IT architecture team to discuss the design and updates of the product catalog, ensuring the inclusion of the latest technological improvements.
  • 14:00 – 15:00: Identify optimization opportunities in current lifecycle processes, documenting recommendations for review with the management team.
  • 15:00 – 17:00: Prepare for vendor negotiation, including reviewing requirements and setting objectives to ensure favorable terms.
  • 17:00 – 17:30: Wrap up the day by updating the task list, noting any pending items, and responding to final emails.

Together we are Jumbo: Here is where you will work

You’ll work closely with two other team members who focus on supporting store operations and providing guidance during store openings and renovations. Together, you will form a cohesive team responsible for ensuring stores have the necessary IT resources, knowledge, and tools to run efficiently.

Typically you

At Jumbo, we look for go-getters, people with good ideas and the courage to work together on them. We care for each other: our customers, colleagues, and the world around us, and we want to do a little better every day. All our (future) colleagues bring a healthy dose of Jumbo DNA with them, and so do you! Additionally, you also have:

  • Strong Analytical Skills: The role requires the ability to analyze budget reports, evaluate inventory needs, and identify areas for improvement in lifecycle management processes to make data-driven decisions.
  • Effective Stakeholder Management: Success in this position depends on excellent communication and relationship-building skills, ensuring alignment with internal teams, vendors, and store personnel to support strategic IT initiatives.
  • Attention to Detail and Organizational Skills: Managing multiple tasks, from budget control to vendor coordination and compliance, requires high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize efficiently for smooth operations and timely execution.

What do you get from us?

At Jumbo, you will find a working environment with warmth, fun, and attention to each other, where you have plenty of room to contribute to our ambition to become the most customer-oriented company. And just as you are there for our customers, we are there for you. You can count on:

  • A gross salary between €5,500 - €7,100 per month (based on 40 hours).
  • An annual bonus of max 10% of your annual salary, based on organizational goals.
  • 30 days of paid holiday (with the opportunity to buy or sell days of paid holiday) and 8% holiday allowance. You build up a pension through participation in the Pension Fund for the Food Industry.
  • A(n) (electric) lease car. We like to work together in the office, but you can also work partly from home.
  • Room for entrepreneurship, growth, and development. Not only in your job but also through our Jumbo Academy, online training through GoodHabitz, and with a training budget.
  • Daily fresh lunch in our Foodcafé, good coffee, and fresh fruit. You can sport daily at our own Jumbo Gym for a small fee.
  • Colleague discounts such as 10% off your groceries (up to €325 per year), participation in our collective health insurance, or discounts through Benefits at Work.
