The role

Join Damen Naval, the pioneer in the naval industry, and play a key role in our innovative shipbuilding projects. We are seeking a seasoned interim technical system verification and validation integration lead with expertise in Structures, Shipbuilding & Outfitting to oversee and coordinate the Verification and Validation activities. If you have a strong background in shipbuilding or related industries and are ready to drive excellence in large projects, we want to hear from you! As interim Technical System Integration Lead Verification & Validation, you will be the interface between the Engineering department, quality control, and testing, guiding and coordinating the verification and validation process with all different stakeholders and requirements. Your responsibilities will extend to ensuring the desired quality and timely delivery of subcontracted work packages during the execution of large-scale projects. Key accountabilities As interim Technical System Integration Lead Verification & Validation, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the development and submission of all Verification & Validation documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Oversee a multidisciplinary team, including responsible engineers, integration engineers, and Verification & Validation specialists.
  • Track requirements for comprehensive supply scope and ensure seamless equipment integration.
  • Ensure compliance and traceability of all technical content within specification requirements.
  • Coordinate client documentation delivery and review processes to meet contract specifications.
  • Facilitate Design Reviews and function as the escalation point for compliance issues.
  • Take ownership of test preparation and oversee the test timeline for all relevant stages.
  • Manage the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) planning, including technical protocol content and completeness.
  • Participate in contractual tests and trials (FAT, HAT, and SAT), ensuring quality and compliance standards are met.
  • Drive effective project synchronization and stakeholder contributions, including subcontractor collaboration.
Skills & experience To excel as an interim Technical System Integration Lead Verification & Validation, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
  • Bachelor or Master in Engineering or a related discipline combined with at least five years of experience in collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and project managers, preferably in shipbuilding or related industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of Structures, Shipbuilding & Outfitting, and experience with Class-regulated products.
  • Skilled in managing complex systems, project, subcontractor relations, and engineering requirements.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and German proficiency is a plus.
  • Core competencies: customer orientation, quality focus, teamwork, leadership, planning, and effective communication.
  • Excellent references as a pre-assignment security screening is part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
