The Role

As a Purchaser Stock Management, you are responsible for the procurement of components on stock, which entails a large variety from valves to search lights, from fasteners to appliances and from casting parts to propeller shafts. Our main storage location is located in Gorinchem, but you will facilitate procurement for hubs in the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa as well. Together with another purchaser and assistant purchaser, you have contact with suppliers about delivery times, deliveries, and price information, complete the parts catalog and decide with internal departments such as part catalog, category managers, engineering, production, and warehouse to improve products from A to Z. You will work in a close-knit purchasing team with an open character, within a dynamic company where your personal development is stimulated.

Key Accountabilities

As a Purchaser you:
  • Are responsible for the entire purchasing process of stock management;
  • Ensure the purchase of implemented standards, in collaboration with engineering;
  • Are continuously monitoring and aligning the procurement setup, stock levels, and planning with internal customers to ensure the production planning;
  • Always know the latest status of deliveries and issues and will keep this data up to date in our ERP program;
  • Have a pro-active attitude towards internal and external stakeholders and in-time escalation of risks;
  • Actively contribute to improvement events to optimize our worldwide supply chain.

Skills & Experience

In this role as a Purchaser, you bring:
  • A Bachelor degree preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering, and/or at least 3 years working in an International Supply Chain or Procurement role, preferably in a process-driven industry;
  • Experience with working in a commercial environment;
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch, both spoken and written;
  • Experience with working in ERP systems (knowledge of MRP is a pre);
  • Ability to set up a structured way of working;
  • Hands-on mentality, with a service-oriented approach.
