We love denim. Live and breathe it. It’s in our DNA. At G-STAR, we see no limit to what denim can do. We believe it can be force of progress and innovation for both people and planet. How? By hiring the most creative, curious and caring minds. People who think beyond fashion. Bringing big ideas to big challenges. Driven by possibility. Those who work hard, make mistakes, but always continue to grow. Denim is in our DNA, our people are our stitching. Join the denim heads making raw denim.

NOTE: We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of background, identity, or experience.

HERE'S WHAT WE'LL DO TOGETHER:

As our new Copywriter Intern, you are the voice of our brand. You will support us in telling G-STAR’s story across the globe. And will be responsible for bringing our brand to life through language. Whether it’s our latest denim innovation, design collaboration or art project, you’ll be communicating these exciting projects within a creative environment.

In this role, you will work within the Creative Studio but will gain the experience of working across all marketing teams. Reporting to our Creative Content Editor, you will get first-hand experience on how a global brand communicates across all areas of marketing.

You will be responsible for writing English and Dutch copy for a variety of marketing purposes, from social media posts and newsletters to articles and product descriptions. You will be able to distil the key message and translate this appropriately and consistently across various outlets.

The ability to proofread and edit texts with scrutiny is very important. You will produce copy that is creatively written to a high professional standard. The candidate selected for this role must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write inspiring copy for brand campaigns to be translated across several channels (social media, CRM & Loyalty and retail)
  • Support the Copy team with research, SEO writing and creative concepts
  • Write articles and interviews for our news platform
  • Write product descriptions for .com and review existing ones
  • Contribute to the G-STAR language library
  • Contribute to the new Tone of Voice strategy
  • Elevate storytelling and contribute creative ideas
  • The ability to think creatively and translate (marketing) ideas into creative copy
  • Manage multiple projects, with the ability to switch from one to the other seamlessly
  • Check copy written by the marketing department + rewrite/edit if necessary

HERE'S WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Fluent in English and Dutch, both written and spoken
  • HBO or University level. Enrolled in Communication, Journalism, Fashion & Branding, Translation or related field
  • High interest in fashion, culture and art
  • Motivated and eager to learn
  • Passionate about writing and storytelling
  • Attention to detail
  • Flexible, ability to quickly adapt to changes
  • Pro-active and not afraid to take initiative
  • Collaborative team player
  • Strong communication skills
  • Available for 5/6 months in February 2025
  • You are enrolled at a university or college in the Netherlands or EU, during the whole length of the internship. Unfortunately, we cannot provide immigration support for internships at this time
  • If you are a non-EU student in The Netherlands, you are in possession of a mandatory internship assignment
  • You are already living in the Netherlands and are in the possession of a BSN, or in a process of getting one

HERE'S WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE:

In addition to a €600 monthly allowance for your internship, working at G-STAR brings so many perks and exciting opportunities, we don’t know where to begin… How about:

  • An awesome and diverse team that collaborates to inspire
  • A work environment that offers room for fun, inspiration and innovation
  • A flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week, promoting work-life balance
  • A clothing budget of €400 to buy the latest G-STAR items!
  • To keep up the greatness we also offer you a healthy, fresh, and delicious lunch in our HQ in Amsterdam.
  • If you don’t have an OV student travel card, we will cover your travel expenses.
  • You will also enjoy two paid days of leave per month!

HERE'S WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT:

  • During this job application, we will ask you to play a couple of short neuroscientific games. These games provide you with the opportunity to showcase your potential, talents, and personality.
  • As a result, we can ensure equal opportunities for everyone who applies, by evaluating everyone based on objective, scientifically proven insights rather than gut feeling.
  • As we value personal growth and transparency, we will make sure you receive your results on the games as well.
  • When we hopefully find what we are looking for, we will get in touch with you and if it’s a good fit, we’ll plan our first interview.
  • When we’re ready to commit to each other, we’ll finalize the terms we’ve discussed, and we’ll explain to you how to order your first pair of jeans from the G-STAR employee store.

Good luck!
