Location flexible within the US Western half of the US

We are looking for a dynamic results-orientated business leader to join our team!

Key performance areas

As a Sales Business Controller, you will act as the critical link between the Sales and Finance teams, supporting the strategic and operational objectives of the sales function. You will provide in-depth analysis and financial insight, contribute to sales planning and forecasting, and ensure accurate tracking of sales performance against targets.

You will have a strong understanding of both sales processes and financial controls, allowing you to make data-backed recommendations to drive performance improvement and support decision-making at all levels.

Key activities and responsibilities

  • Sales Performance Analysis: Monitor, analyze, and report on sales performance against budget and forecast, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for growth.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with Sales and Finance teams to prepare sales forecasts and budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives and providing actionable insights.
  • Monthly Reporting: Prepare regular reports, including but not limited to sales-related KPIs. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Sales Strategy Support: Work closely with Sales leadership to assess the financial impact of sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional activities.
  • Cost Control: Evaluate and optimize sales-related costs, ensuring profitability targets are met without compromising sales growth.
  • Sales Incentive Programs: Support the design and tracking of sales incentive plans, ensuring they align with business goals and motivate high performance.
  • Ad-Hoc Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support decision-making across various sales initiatives, product launches, and market expansion strategies.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve processes for sales reporting, forecasting, and budgeting to drive greater efficiency and accuracy.
  • Build strong relationships and network with key stakeholders.

  • You understand what is needed to build and cultivate cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics365, PowerBI and a very strong user of Excel would be greatly valued.

Profile

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration or CPA preferred, with 2 to 3 years of Sales / Business Controlling experience in a manufacturing environment,
  • An excellent understanding of financial processes, reporting, and accounting, and a high level of computer proficiency, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized, strongly analytical, and have a keen attention to detail and ability to question the facts.
  • Working with continuous improvements is a natural part of your character and you feel comfortable searching for information, identifying small and large solutions, and challenging the norm.
  • As the Business Controller, you are an important part of the organization, and have excellent presentations and communications (verbal and written) skills, enabling strong influence on others when required.
  • Well-developed ability to deliver results under pressure and balance multiple priorities with ease.
  • You are flexible, react well to change, and remain calm in the face of challenges.
  • You are active and future oriented.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) is required for this role.
