This is a learning or graduation internship.

What will you do as an Internal Audit & Risk Intern?

During your internship at Vopak you will be part of the audit team, a small team of experienced business professionals with a diverse background and experience. The global audit team conducts reviews across the world. Through the guidance of an experienced team member, we will work towards independently carrying out either a risk study, an improvement project, or a specific international audit engagement during the course of the internship. Or all of the above!

What do we expect from you as an Internal Audit & Risk Intern?

• You are currently enrolled in a university (WO) education program in Business Administration, Economics, Accountancy or a similar field and are at the end phase of your studies;
• You are currently enrolled in Dutch university and remain enrolled till the end of your internship period:
• You are available part- or full-time for at least 4 months;
• You have strong verbal and written English communications skills;
• You have affinity with governance, internal controls and risk management
• You are a people person who likes being involved with multiple projects with various stakeholders;
• Good academic records

Possible specific assignments

• Contribute to developing and implementing a plan for the internal audit function to leverage on new data technology, including genAI
• Join the audit team in an international audit engagement
• Join the multidisciplinary project team that is tasked with designing and implementing a new, truly integral audit covering all business areas in close cooperation with colleagues from the technical, operational and IT domains.
• Prepare and execute a global review of IT general controls, including recommendations on how to improve
• Contribute to the Global Risk Committee by participating in a risk study tied to an area of specific concern (e.g., ME developments, China, Mexico etc.)
• Implementing the Verklaring rondom Risicobeheersing as part of the new corporate governance code.
• Implement an audit approach for sustainability (CSRD) reporting
