TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. We are looking for a passionate colleague at our location/s Arnhem Rijnpoort who will contribute to this and that might be you?

Your contribution to TenneT

The Lead Integration & Commissioning leads the team responsible for providing expertise, engineering, and various services required for the large-scale 2GW offshore projects that LPO is developing in the North Sea. From early development through construction and installation to commissioning and handover of grid connection systems, the team is engaged with the projects and various stakeholders within TenneT to ensure projects are delivered with minimized risks, maximized affordability, and on time.

You will support our grid expansion projects with your team of technical experts. By identifying (technical) risks early in the process and developing suitable solutions, the team plays a key role in ensuring that projects can be built safely, on schedule, and with minimal scope changes or rework during the construction phase.

Your main responsibilities as a leader are:

  • Provide disciplinary and professional leadership to the team within the Engineering & Services department.
  • Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned, and cost reduction across all projects.
  • Act as the main point of contact for topics related to Asset Management, System Operations, and Grid Field Operations, as well as for interdepartmental interfaces.
  • Oversee design reviews, quality assurance measures, and safety checks within the projects, ensuring follow-up on improvements during the technical engineering and construction phases within the team's area of expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with, and contribute to, the development of technical standards and business processes.
  • Manage resources, particularly by ensuring the provision of qualified personnel for grid connection projects, especially for technical project management within the team’s area of expertise.
  • Develop and optimize processes within the team structure and provide relevant support to the projects.
  • Implement strategies, measures, and resolutions from (cross-department) working groups.

The Integration & Commissioning team is responsible for all aspects of the integration, commissioning, and handover phases. This includes commissioning documents, signal testing, interfacing with the control center, document validation, and handover to field operations. Due to the complex chain of systems, the large volume of documents, and the critical nature of testing, this is an extensive responsibility. In this (both interesting and challenging) field of work, you will lead a team not only responsible for delivering engineering services but also for ensuring quality, including safety. You will identify new opportunities for smarter working (and improving affordability) while raising the level of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) topics within Engineering & Services.

Your profile and background

We are looking for a candidate with an academic level of working and thinking, holding a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in engineering with a focus on mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable field. The ideal candidate has experience in people management, including team organization development, qualification of team members, and definition of responsibilities within the team.

You have relevant professional experience in the described field and demonstrate high operational readiness and decisiveness. You have experience working in a (matrix) team, can communicate effectively, and are open to dialogue and new ideas while maintaining focus on shared goals and team targets.

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills and a structured, results-oriented work approach.
  • Occupational medical fitness for offshore operations according to the DGMM standard.
  • Distinct quality awareness and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) experience.

Behavioral Competencies:

  • Behavioral Flexibility (Advanced): Able to navigate and lead in a complex, changing environment.
  • Decisiveness (Advanced): Foster independent decision-making within the team.
  • Persuasiveness (Good): Adapt reasoning based on the topic and audience.
  • Planning and Organizing (Mastery): Effectively plan resources in collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Quality Orientation (Mastery): Ensuring high-quality standards and sharing cross-unit lessons learned is essential for TenneT.
  • Results Orientation (Advanced): Aim for ambitious goals while balancing stakeholder interests.
  • Stakeholder Management (Advanced): Create a positive and sustainable working environment with open dialogues in complex and capital-intensive projects.

This will be our challenge
