Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer who is passionate about optimizing production processes and has a deep understanding of lean manufacturing principles. This role is integral to ensuring that our production lines operate at peak efficiency, delivering the highest quality standards in 3D printing technology.

You will work on the optimization of the existing lines in Zaltbommel and, of course, have the lead in setting up new lines for new products. You know how to strike a balance between an effective production line and the well-being of your colleagues working behind the line.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve production processes, reduce waste, and implement solutions that enhance our manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and optimize production processes
• Lead and support engineering projects aimed at expanding manufacturing capabilities, such as the implementation of new equipment, layout adjustments, or process changes
• Lead initiatives in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement (Kaizen) methodologies
• Provide on-the-floor engineering support, including troubleshooting equipment and process issues
• Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities, generating actionable insights and recommendations
• Partner with the Quality team to establish and monitor product quality standards, driving improvements to ensure consistency and reduce defects
• Ensure that all manufacturing processes, changes, and updates are documented in compliance with industry and Ultimaker standards. Support regulatory and safety compliance initiatives as needed

You recognize yourself in:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in high-tech or electronics manufacturing
• Proven experience in implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes (Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean or Kaizen is highly preferred)
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment and tooling
• Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab) for performance tracking and process optimization
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Effective communicator, in Dutch and English, with the ability to translate technical details into clear action steps for production teams
