Your contribution to TenneT

TenneT is growing fast to realize its strategic ambitions. We play a leading role in driving the energy transition. TenneT has committed to a 2GW program to realize at least 14 2GW HVDC Grid Connection Systems that bring the power from the offshore wind farms in the North sea into the Dutch and German electricity grid in the period up to 2031.

We are looking for a passionate Strategic Buyer at our location Arnhem who will contribute to this and that might be you?

Your contribution to TenneT:

You will work in the SCM (Supply Chain Management) unit for the team that supports Large Project Offshore (LPO). LPO is responsible for the offshore grid connection projects and you will be responsible for procurement-related activities as a buyer within a 2GW Portfolio. Your workplace is in Arnhem. Working from home is also partly possible in alignment with the Lead of the SCM-DC-LPO team. You will be part of a cross-border team and in regular contact with the German team members. Business trips to Hannover and Bayreuth will be part of the job.

  • You will be responsible to conduct sourcing activities within the 2GW offshore program.
  • Your core tasks include managing price & index elements for all projects with one 2GW partner/consortium in portfolio and project contracts.
  • One part of your job is to execute supplier performance management for one partner/consortium and to manage the sub-supplier governance.
  • You will proactively develop & maintain strong relationships with one partner/consortium on a continuous basis.
  • You will support your colleagues to develop best practices and set up standardized processes.
  • Defining standardized processes and setups (call-off process).
  • You conduct active stakeholder management; you have insight into the influence, wishes, motives and intentions of colleagues and suppliers of strategic importance to LPO and build and maintain relationships in such a way that the interests of the projects are served properly.

Your profile and background

Due to ambitious governmental plans, the (offshore) project portfolio of TenneT is growing and therefore we need to increase internal personnel capacity. You will work in close cooperation with the LPO department and be part of the Project Team for 2GW, which is why interactive communication is essential for success. Especially as we operate in a volatile market. Flexibility, cooperation, and strategic thinking are crucial to the function.

  • You have a (HBO/University) degree preferably in economics or business administration or in a comparable field of study.
  • Extensive, practical experience in all procurement activities (incl. EU Tender law).
  • You work result and customer-oriented, and analytically, you have the power of persuasion and form personal judgments.
  • You show initiative, are open-minded with regard to new topics, and enjoy working in a team.
  • You have subject-matter expertise in procurement packages in the field of engineering, environmental management, contract forms, and innovation.
