The sky’s the limit for a technical architect at KLM. As a vital member of our IT department, you’ll make sure the development of our communication services is compliant with KLM’s rules and regulations. You’ll have the opportunity to personally excel and guide colleagues in their professional development, each and every day.

What will you do?

Voice services and videoconferencing services, air-ground radio or our internal corporate network: smooth and undisturbed communication is crucial to all of KLM’s operations. As a technical architect, you’ll ensure that the development of our communication services complies with stringent safety and security regulations. You’ll put your skills to use across three crucial product teams: voice, video and critical communications.

Additionally, you will:

  • draft technical documents to validate and present new IT solutions to the business;
  • adapt proposed solutions, to make sure they comply with current rules and regulations;
  • remain available for support during solution implementation, in case issues occur;
  • contribute to our technical roadmap, defining business targets and anticipating trends.

Where do you land?

You’ll become part of Schiphol IT Services , specifically the Communications Solutions Team. Here, you’ll be working in a team of four, together with contract and project managers. Additionally, you’ll be working in tandem with Air France’s technical architect in Paris. In your role, you’ll mainly take on projects at Schiphol, but will occasionally get the chance to work on assignments at Charles de Gaulle Airport as well.

Your profile

As a technical architect, it’s critical you see the bigger picture. That’s why you bring an end-to-end, overarching vision on network and communication to the table. You’re an all-rounder and already have a few technical skills under your belt. But don’t be discouraged if you aren’t so well-versed in all domains yet. As long as you’re willing to learn, you’re in the right place. Additionally, it’s important you’re able to clearly convey complex technical information to all layers of the organization. With your commercial mindset, you orient technical solutions towards business opportunities.

In addition, you:

  • have a technical bachelor degree;
  • have at least 5 of experience working in network and telecom; with first experience in a technical architect job position
  • are familiar with agile ways of working and ITIL processes.
