We Are Denim Heads.

We love denim. Live and breathe it. It’s in our DNA. At G-STAR, we see no limit to what denim can do. We believe it can be force of progress and innovation for both people and planet. How? By hiring the most creative, curious and caring minds. People who think beyond fashion. Bringing big ideas to big challenges. Driven by possibility. Those who work hard, make mistakes, but always continue to grow. Denim is in our DNA, our people are our stitching. Join the denim heads making raw denim.

NOTE: We are committed to creating an inclusive environment and welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of background, identity, or experience.

We are looking for a motivated and creative R&D Intern to join our dynamic team, to assist in various aspects of our product development process; focusing mainly on materials such as fabrics, washes and trims. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in the fashion industry on both the creative and coordinating sides.

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with our designers to develop washes based on conceptual input.
  • Assist in the development of trims, providing support based on design direction.
  • Helping out in preparing (internal) fabric selection meetings and following up afterwards.
  • Support the organization of wash selection meetings, ensuring all materials are ready and accessible.
  • Request and maintain updates for material data records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Keep fabric, wash, and trim archives organized and up to date, ensuring easy access to historical samples and data.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • Fashion? You live and breathe it.
  • You are an enthusiastic, out of the box thinker.
  • You have basic knowledge in MS Office.
  • Basic knowledge in Adobe Illustrator is a plus (but no dealbreaker)!
  • You are well organized, versatile with a can-do attitude.
  • You are self-confident, proactive, with strong analytical and decisive skills.
  • It is preferred that you are pursuing a Textile/Fashion oriented Bachelor/Master. However, having other academic background is also fine if you are enthusiastic and eager to learn.
  • You have a high interest and willingness to explore AI in this field.
  • You are available full-time for a period of 6 months starting in February 2025.
  • You are enrolled at a university or college in the Netherlands or EU, during the whole length of the internship. Unfortunately, we cannot provide immigration support for internships at this time.
  • If you are a non-EU student in The Netherlands, you are in possession of a mandatory internship assignment.
  • You are already living in the Netherlands and are in the possession of a BSN, or in a process of getting one.

Finally, do you have strong personality and excellent verbal and written communication skills in English? Then we’d love to meet you!

WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE:

In addition to a €600 monthly allowance for your internship, working at G-STAR brings so many perks and exciting opportunities, we don’t know where to begin… How about:

  • An awesome and diverse team that collaborates to inspire
  • A work environment that offers room for fun, inspiration and innovation
  • A flexibility to work from home up to 2 days a week, promoting work-life balance
  • A clothing budget of €400 to buy the latest G-STAR items!
  • To keep up the greatness we also offer you a healthy, fresh, and delicious lunch in our HQ in Amsterdam.
  • If you don’t have an OV student travel card, we will cover your travel expenses.
  • You will also enjoy two paid days of leave per month!

HERE'S WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT:

  • During this job application, we will ask you to play a couple of short neuroscientific games. These games provide you with the opportunity to showcase your potential, talents, and personality.
  • As a result, we can ensure equal opportunities for everyone who applies, by evaluating everyone based on objective, scientifically proven insights rather than gut feeling.
  • As we value personal growth and transparency, we will make sure you receive your results on the games as well.
  • When we hopefully find what we are looking for, we will get in touch with you and if it’s a good fit, we’ll plan our first interview.
  • When we’re ready to commit to each other, we’ll finalize the terms we’ve discussed and we’ll explain to you how to order your first pair of jeans from the G-STAR employee store.

Good luck!
