About the role

We are now accepting internship/working student applications for a part-time research role at Pal, a digital health startup building solutions in the palliative care space.

You will work closely with Pal’s co-founders, Azi and Nara, and Pal's medical lead, Marcus, on special research and innovation projects that will drive the company's product suite forward.

Your tasks on these research projects will be varied, and may include:

  • Data collection and cleaning
  • Conducting desk research and literature reviews
  • Interviewing healthcare professionals and other experts
  • Structuring and organizing data for analysis
  • Developing surveys or questionnaires for data collection
  • Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data
  • Assisting in report writing and presentation preparation

About Pal

Today, more than 56 million families are affected by life-limiting illnesses, and every day they pay the price of an overwhelmingly costly, neglected, inequitable, and inefficient care space. With the rapid aging of the world's population and the ever-growing resource constraints of the healthcare systems, moving towards digital care solutions is inevitable. And we happen to be there at the right place, right time, ready to disrupt and redefine palliative care.

At Pal, we are laying the groundwork to become the leading provider of digital palliative care in the home setting. We’re starting with an app that brings (chosen) families together to better care for their loved ones and manage their core fundamental needs - care planning, symptom monitoring, and up-skilling.

If you’re interested, intrigued, touched, curious, or in love already, carry on reading.

What you'll need

Must-have:

  • Empathy.
  • Interest in the space we are innovating in and the problem we’re solving.
  • Excellent research skills with the ability to work in a structured manner.
  • Proactive, with a can-do and hands-on attitude.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Valid European residency, and enrolled in higher education for the full duration of the internship/working student.
  • Able to come to our office in Amsterdam and work from there most days.
  • Ability to work independently, detail-oriented, and execution focused
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Highly collaborative and team-oriented.

Really really nice-to-have:

  • Any previous internships in similar fields.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.

What's in it for you

  • An opportunity to make a lasting positive impact on the lives of millions
  • Internship salary / working student salary (compensation dependent on hours and experience)
  • Hybrid working model
  • Access to a co-working space in Amsterdam (we are currently at Edge Olympic)
  • Opportunities for full-time employment after your studies
  • Experiencing every aspect of building a company and working at an early-stage startup

How you apply

Please send us a message with your CV and a short description of why exactly YOU are a good fit for this role and why Pal is the right place for you to get more experience. NB! Bonus points if you write any application texts yourself without the use of AI ;)
