The SGS Hoogvliet location, where you will be working, is part of the Industries & Environment business line and is an important part of the project that contributes to a cleaner living environment. Here at the lab, we carry out a large number of tests on soil, water and air samples on a daily basis. This includes analyses for the presence of PFAS, asbestos, pesticides, oil or metals, and so on.

For the SGS Hoogvliet location, we are looking for an All-round Analyst 2 for the Chemistry department, where you will be responsible from A to Z for the preparation and analysis of soil and water samples. Are you interested? Then read on and find out if this is the job for you.

Job Description

As an Chemical Analyst, you are responsible for preparing and analyzing soil and water samples from A to Z.

  • Pre-processing, such as weighing, back-weighing, pipetting, filtration and destruction;
  • Setting up and operating analysis robots and instruments;
  • Performing analyses such as Phenol Index, Phosphate, Cyanide, Chromium6, using Continues Flow Analyzers and ION Chromatography;
  • Processing the analysis results;
  • Responsible for (periodic) validation.
  • Identifying problems in one's own work, proposing a solution and its implementation.
  • Maintaining, calibrating and validating equipment;
  • In case of abnormal results, doing a root cause analysis and solving them.

Qualifications

The ideal All-round Chemical Analyst for our laboratory meets the following criteria:

  • You have at least an HBO diploma in the direction of Chemistry;
  • Work experience in a laboratory is an advantage;
  • Proficiency in the Dutch or English language, both verbally and in writing;
  • You must reside in the EU and are permitted to work in the Netherlands with a valid work permit.
