The industry is increasingly requiring itself to react quickly to customer demands, improving effectiveness and efficiency while increasing cost and risk. This while there is a pressing requirement to eliminate negative impact on the planet and to operate in a socially acceptable manner.

Are you interested in being involved in bulk handling projects where you help clients to optimise their industrial site and transform their facility to comply with the above requirements? Then this vacancy might be something for you!

What you will do

We are looking for a Bulk Handling Engineer. Within the Business Line Industry and Buildings, we have extensive knowledge of the design of industrial production facilities and bulk terminals in ports. We are typically involved in the early project phases of CAPEX projects; we are translating the client’s wishes into the first design sketches and flow diagrams up to selection of optimum bulk handling concepts based on a thorough understanding of their processes. Typical activities include definition of transportation and storage concepts, capacity analysis, scenario analysis, and de-bottlenecking assisted by powerful dynamic simulation software. The projects can vary from a concept design for a grain terminal somewhere in South America to the optimisation of a part of the plant of one of our heavy industry clients in The Netherlands.

In your role as Bulk Handling Engineer, you provide answers on a variety of questions such as:

  • How can we increase the capacity of my facility?
  • What will be the optimal masterplan for my plant?
  • What CAPEX is required to extend my facility?
  • What is the best procurement strategy for this project?
  • What are the required next steps to realize this project?
