Make your mark as a business controller for fleet management at Boskalis and oversee the assets of highly specialized vessels used for Boskalis' projects. Together with a team of fleet business controllers, you will guide the business to ensure we achieve the best results. Serve as the financial steward of the fleet management department, providing current management information to support the business.

Managing our fleet of approximately 900 vessels and equipment is a challenging job. Our vessels are used for a wide range of maritime projects. As a fleet business controller, you are on top of financial analyses of every aspect regarding these vessels. For example, you can be involved in a repair maintenance project, a project regarding a newly built ship, or a project regarding a large conversion of a vessel being transferred to another project. We believe it's crucial for you to collaborate closely with your colleagues engaged in projects involving the vessels.

Smart innovations and modifications are continuously needed to keep achieving the best results. As a fleet business controller, you will work from our campus in Papendrecht and travel regularly to projects/locations worldwide.

Your responsibilities as business controller fleet management:

  • Drafting, monitoring, and challenging budgets regarding vessel-related projects.
  • Acting as a financial business partner for fleet managers/teams and project leaders of repair or modification projects.
  • Compiling various management reports and conducting business economic analyses at BU and project levels.
  • Ensuring accurate processing of transactions related to investments/modifications, repairs, and equipment rentals.
  • Managing relationships at the project and business unit level.
  • Participating in various (partial) projects to support the business unit controller in further developing and professionalizing the controlling function of the department.

Your qualities and experience

As a business controller fleet management you:

  • Have at least 3 years’ relevant work experience as (project/business) controller in a similar environment.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of Excel.
  • Are excited about working in the maritime industry in a project-driven environment.
  • Are willing to travel globally on a regular basis.

To be successful in the role of business controller fleet management, it is essential that you have a strong personality and possess excellent communication skills. In addition, a healthy dose of pragmatism and pro-activity should be second nature to you. You prefer to take initiative rather than passively waiting for things to happen. Of course, it is important that you have an affinity for Boskalis' projects.
