Not 'just a job'

As a Safety Engineer at SPIE Bruggen, Sluizen & Gemalen, you are part of a multidisciplinary project team, focusing on the safety of structures in the wet infrastructure. To do this, you conduct risk assessments and devise and describe the necessary mitigating measures, such as shielding and safety functions to ensure the machine safety of various structures (bridges, locks, and pumping stations). You apply national frameworks and legislation such as the Machinery Directive and Work Equipment Directive.

You will work within a project team on projects like the largest and highest lift bridge in Europe - the Botlekbrug - and the largest pumping station in Europe, Gemaal IJmuiden. The tasks include:

  • Performing risk assessments;
  • Advising on safety issues;
  • Drawing up safety documents such as FSP, SRS, and HDS;
  • Creating SIL/PL calculations;
  • Explaining designs to colleagues, executors, and/or clients.

Not 'just an employee'

Every day, we must make a difference to perform at our best for our clients. We expect this from all our employees, including you as a Safety Engineer. The engineering team consists of highly experienced hardware and software engineers. We are looking for additional expertise in the field of machine safety. Therefore, you have experience in this field. In addition, you:

  • Have a completed HBO education in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or mechatronics;
  • Possess a Machine Safety certificate recognized by institutions like TÜV, Dekra, or Exida;
  • Have a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.
  • Experience in infrastructure is a plus, but not a requirement.

Not 'just a set of terms and conditions'

At the largest technical service provider in the Netherlands, you don't just get a job. However, you do get a career with concrete opportunities for advancement. You get a lot of responsibility and independence in your work. We ask a lot of you as a Safety Engineer, and therefore we offer a lot. Specifically, for this position based on 40 hours a week, we offer:

  • Starting with a one-year contract with the intention to extend to permanent;
  • A balanced and well-arranged package of employment conditions, tailored to your education/experience;
  • A travel expense allowance;
  • A PMT pension plan with SPIE paying over 70%. For later;
  • 25 vacation days + 13 ADV days. That adds up nicely. Additionally, the option to purchase or sell vacation and/or ADV days;
  • An annual profit distribution, flexible benefits package, and the possibility to buy SPIE shares under favorable conditions;
  • A mobile phone (with many options to choose from) and a laptop. Everything you need to be successful;
  • A healthy balance between work and private life, with the possibility of flexible working hours and remote working;
  • All opportunities for further development and training. You just have to seize them.

Just apply.
