Senior project buyer EPC

The company is a major player in the development and supply of complete water treatment plants, designed to customer specifications and delivered turn-key. It supplies both industrial customers and governments worldwide. The company has 400 employees in the Netherlands and about 2,000 worldwide. It is part of a French parent company with a total of 12,000 employees. The main office is in Achterhoek, with branch offices in Raalte, Heerenveen, and Amsterdam.

Projects

The projects you will be assigned to have a value from approximately €30 million and start with an offer to the client based on a feasibility study with budget prices. If a client wishes to proceed, successive design/engineering phases will be reimbursed, but the client can decide to stop the project at any time until construction starts. During these phases, the level of detailing becomes finer. Budgeting is based on quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.

Project procurement involves selecting suppliers for tanks and process equipment (instrumentation, cabling, piping, etc.) and subcontractors for building construction and installation work.

In the tender and design phases, you determine what materials and services are needed, look at developments in the market, and then determine the procurement strategy. This strategy is concretized in a project procurement plan where risk management is an important aspect.

If the contract is awarded, you draft, negotiate, and close agreements.

In the construction phase, you act as an escalation channel, provide contract management, and deal with additional work. This is a smaller part of your job.

You will work closely with sales, project management, and engineering during the tender and design phases. Your input is crucial to the execution of the projects.

Your Profile

• HBO work/thought level
• Extensive experience with complete procurement of turn-key projects, e.g., at electric/water companies, in renewables, at installation companies, or in construction
• Knowledge of FIDIC, UAV contract requirements is a plus
• Good command of English; Dutch is a plus

Offer

• Gross salary of up to €8,000/month, depending on your knowledge and experience
• In principle, there is no bonus

• You will work partly at home, partly in the office, and partly at project sites. The ratio is up to you.
