Product Financial Accountant (Project and Programme Accountant) - London (Hybrid)

Role Overview

Reporting into the Head of Product Viability Analysis, the Product Financial Analyst is responsible for producing viable data for product improvements, whilst providing regular executive analysis against agreed financial and non-financial metrics, managing and ensuring business unit adherence to RMG financial policy and compliance obligations and supporting inputs to the product investment budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the development of commercial options on price, cost, and return on investment
  • Support the Head of Product Viability Analysis to secure budget to deliver new and continuous improvements to product features and monitor performance
  • Develop economic analysis for initiatives on the product roadmap and target operating model
  • Model complex scenarios, sometimes using ambiguous or incomplete data from multiple sources, to provide product metrics, trend analysis, and benefits
  • Manage the comprehensive composition and viability analysis of customer tender requests, including commercial contractual obligations
  • Provide supportive role in the financial analysis of product market opportunities, sales, trends, and business value
  • Provide input to product initiatives, including financial benefit modelling, evaluation of the economics, risks and issues, and commercial viability; ensuring requests are financially robust and adhere to the wider group policies & standards
  • Manage the tracking of costs and product volume/revenue throughout product lifecycle in association with Product Tower Owners and Market Launch Managers
  • Support compliance with business policies, processes, and standards obligations

Key Skills

  • Expert in creating Excel models to analyse complex investment scenarios
  • Requires expert knowledge of business and financial analysis
  • Deep understanding of industry-standard policies, processes, and procedures related to investment
  • Strong understanding of commercial value drivers

Experience

  • Extensive experience in commercial or operational finance on complex programmes, supporting customer, commercial and product disciplines
  • Proven experience of operating at senior stakeholder level with strong communication
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment that can have multiple priorities and with incomplete information to tight deadlines

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent (e.g., professionally qualified accountant, business/financial modeler, etc.)
