Job Opportunity: Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead

This exciting opportunity within the Chief Security Office focuses on the understanding, preparedness, detection, and response to cyber threats and incidents to keep the bank, customers, clients, and colleagues safe, secure, and always on. Cyber Operations provides a global toolset that ensures confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the firm's information assets, and in implementing world-class security solutions to meet our business needs.

Your role specifically focuses on the analysis and reduction of Barclays' cyber threat for new and emerging cyber threats by:

  • Understanding and evaluating the external cyber threat landscape on a technical level
  • Guiding relationships with internal and external stakeholders to share technical and operational information
  • Providing strategic direction and oversight to the team, including workload prioritization and project assignments

Key Skills and Experience

To be successful as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Lead, you should have experience with:

  • Knowledge of drivers of cyber operations such as cyber threat intelligence frameworks
  • Cyber threat intelligence experience
  • Stakeholder and leadership management
  • Experience with threat intelligence platforms

Purpose of the Role

To monitor the performance of operational controls, implement and manage security controls, and consider lessons learnt in order to protect the bank from potential cyber-attacks and respond to threats.

Accountabilities

  • Management of security monitoring systems, including intrusive prevention and detection systems, to alert, detect, and block potential cyber security incidents, and provide a prompt response to restore normal operations with minimized system damage.
  • Identification of emerging cyber security threats, attack techniques, and technologies to detect/prevent incidents, and collaborate with networks and conferences to gain industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Management and analysis of security information and event management systems to collect, correlate, and analyze security logs, events, and alerts/potential threats.
  • Triage of data loss prevention alerts to identify and prevent sensitive data from being exfiltrated from the bank's network.
  • Management of cyber security incidents including remediation and driving to closure.
