The Role

As the Project Quality Assurance Engineer at Damen Naval, you will optimize quality assurance (QA) processes and procedures for the shipbuilding projects you are assigned to. You will oversee, advise, and report about quality issues related to these projects. Extensive international travel is an important aspect of this role.

Key Accountabilities

  • Coordinate the quality processes and foster a quality mindset in each shipbuilding project.
  • Ensure quality management principles, protocols, and processes are correctly applied.
  • Implement project-specific improvements in the QA processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to the adaptation and application of the QA standards and principles.
  • Ensure the QA registration system is complete and up to date.
  • Participate in project and department progress meetings.
  • Update project management about the quality assurance status and incident mitigations.

Skills & Experience

To excel as the Project Quality Assurance Engineer, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Management, preferably in the naval, defense, or shipbuilding industry.
  • Experienced with manufacturing techniques and processes, preferably in the naval shipbuilding industry.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technical Business Administration, Maritime Technology, or Shipbuilding.
  • Good command of the Dutch and English language, both written and spoken. Command of the German language is a big plus.
  • Willingness and availability for extensive international travelling.
  • Excellent references as a pre-employment security screening is standard.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required.
