Summer Intern Air Human Factors Engineer

Location: Warton/Samlesbury (Lancashire)

Start Date: 23rd June 2025

What You Will Be Doing

In the 12 weeks you will be with us, you will gain knowledge and experience of the analytical methods that ensure our products are safe and effective for human use. You’ll work on anthropometry and sensory capabilities and learn about the effects of stress, workplace design, information and control requirement definition within human-machine interfaces, and environmental ergonomics.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • As a Human Factors engineer, you’ll help to ensure our products are safe, operable, accessible, and habitable for the effective use by a human user.
  • You will support the Human Engineering process by applying specific knowledge and analytical methods covering the full breadth and width of the Human Factors skillset.
  • You will optimise the interaction to result in a system/service and its operator.
  • You will enable operators to fulfil their mission, perform their mission, and achieve their goals whilst being supported within the given operational environment.
  • This includes consideration of human characteristics (anthropometry, sensory capabilities, etc.) and the effects of stress, workplace and workstation design, display of information and control room and interface design requirements.

Skills

As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Engineering Product Design, and Psychology. To be considered for this role, you must be returning to university to complete your degree.
