What You Will Be Doing

On a Summer Internship, over 12 weeks, you will be involved in various areas to develop a broad understanding of the Finance Services we offer. Finance underpins everything we do – it’s vital to find and nurture future talent now. You will gain experience in financial accounting and reporting, management accounting, and project accounting, along with the chance to apply theory, learn from experts, and gain insights from real-world experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Cost base management, understanding departmental budgets and forecasts, preparation of journals, and engagement with budget holders.
• Support in financial reporting activities for month-end reporting, including variance analysis, preparation of submission packs, and consolidation of inputs.
• Involvement in Project Accounting activities, including raising invoices, preparing reconciliations, and producing financial data for key stakeholders.
• Gain understanding of processes and controls required in a multi-billion-pound business by working as part of the Governance team.
• Shadow senior team members to understand the role of a finance leader within the function.

Skills and Qualifications

As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Physics. To be considered for this role, you must be returning to university to complete your degree.
