Join BAE Systems Air, a leader in the development, manufacture, upgrade, and support of combat and fast jet trainer aircraft. We operate globally to support our customers throughout the entire air sector life cycle—from design and development to production and support.

Why BAE Systems?

This is a place where you can make a significant impact within an inclusive, diverse culture that values integrity and merit. We empower you to achieve your potential and particularly welcome applicants from underrepresented communities, including women, ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, and LGBTQ+ individuals.

What You Will Be Doing

Within Systems Engineering, opportunities exist in Flight, Mission, and General Systems disciplines. As a Graduate Engineer, you can use your skills across these domains, specializing or integrating across products and tools. You will participate in varied phases of a product lifecycle, leading systems integration, testing, qualification, and acceptance.

Aside from technical projects, you'll account for schedules, costs, training, life support, safety, and environmental considerations. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing strategies to design and integrate systems to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Capturing and analyzing requirements to comprehend customer/business needs and system context.
  • Designing and optimizing system architectures and solutions using modeling techniques.
  • Facilitating seamless integration of systems and sub-systems.
  • Determining system emergent properties to support optimization, risk reduction, and testing.
  • Defining the verification and validation approach for system certification and acceptance.
  • Identifying safety hazards and assessing/mitigating safety risks.
  • Providing systems engineering support to project and functional teams.

Skills

As a minimum requirement, you will need to have obtained or be predicted to obtain a 2:2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, an Aerospace-related degree, or any STEM subject.

Opportunities for Growth and Development

Employees are encouraged to explore projects beyond primary responsibilities, gaining diverse experiences with our wide product range and multinational presence. Engage in various projects and initiatives that suit your interests and skills.

Benefits

Benefits include a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave, a Share Incentive Plan, flexible working, an employee assistance programme, Cycle2work, and employee discounts. You may also be eligible for an annual incentive.
