What You Will Be Doing

On an Industrial Placement, over 12 months, you will work closely with the Product & Training Services Team to undertake a range of software engineering activities in order to gain knowledge and experience in the application of software engineering techniques, practices, and approaches as part of a software team within the Product & Training Services area of BAE Systems Maritime Services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Produce and maintain a software design to meet a set of software requirements.
• Use a software design to produce a deliverable software solution.
• Test a software solution to prove that it meets its design aims and requirements.
• Maintain a software solution to address reported defects and/or add new functionality.
• Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of Maritime Services software-related processes.
• Gain and apply knowledge, skills, and experience under close technical and managerial control.

Skills

As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to be on track to obtain a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Software or Computer-Related STEM Degree. To be considered for this role you must be returning to university to complete your degree.
