Consultant – Transfer Pricing

The challenge - What future are you building towards?

The international tax advisory practice of EY advises multinational companies, private equity funds, and other investors who invest in the Netherlands and from the Netherlands to the rest of the world. We assist these internationally operating companies in various tax areas, including investments, acquisitions, divestitures, sales processes, business transformations, and internal and external financings.

In recent years, the number of transactions between affiliated parties of a multinational has significantly increased, while international regulations are also evolving. As a result, tax authorities are increasingly focusing on transfer pricing models and the policies adopted by multinational companies. This is where you can make your impact!

What you will do – How can you make a lasting impact in a rapidly changing world?

For the Transfer Pricing team in Rotterdam, we are looking for a Consultant. You will advise and assist the client in optimizing their transfer pricing model. Furthermore, you will advise on restructuring of business units (including valuations thereof). You will conduct factual investigations (such as conducting functional interviews with key employees to gain a good understanding of the organization). You will perform transfer pricing analyses and design and prepare transfer pricing policies and documentation. You will interact with the tax authorities/Ministry of Finance regarding tax audits and the prevention of double taxation.

Of course, you won't be doing this alone. You will be joining the largest transfer pricing team in the Netherlands, with over 70 employees in 3 different locations in the Netherlands and desks in the US and Asia. Moreover, our Transfer Pricing team was recognized as the best team in the Netherlands by the International Tax Review in 2021 and 2022!

In Rotterdam, our team mainly focuses (but not exclusively) on the energy and chemical sectors, with topics such as energy transition and the sustainability of production processes being high on the agenda. You will advise these companies on the Dutch and global tax aspects of these changes, including the impact that Pillar 2, for example, may have on them.

What we are looking for - Where do you start if you want to change the world?

  • A completed Master's degree, preferably in tax law, (tax) economics, or finance.
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience in Transfer Pricing.
  • You are proficient in both spoken and written Dutch.
  • You don't wait around, but you see the work that needs to be done and take immediate action.
  • At the same time, you involve others constructively and clearly communicate what needs to be done and who is responsible for what.
  • At the end of the day, you ensure that the work gets done!

"We want you to bring your authentic self. Everyone does things differently, doing things well can be described in different ways. And here at EY we appreciate that uniqueness."

What we offer - Is everything that counts being counted?

  • A culture that provides you with training, opportunities, and creative freedom to continuously improve yourself and EY.
  • An annual bonus on top of the base salary.
  • 29 vacation days. Phone and laptop.
  • Flexible mobility arrangement.
  • Internal training within EY (EY Tax Academy) during the first 3 years of your career, in addition to the education provided by the Foundation for Tax Advisers Training (Stichting Opleiding Belastingadviseurs) of the Dutch Association of Tax Advisers (NOB).
  • A young, social, and close-knit team with an open and informal culture at its core.
  • Hybrid working: EY provides your home office, including an internet allowance.
  • Steep learning curve to further develop your technical and commercial skills.
  • Challenging (international) projects that allow you to build a strong network, both within and outside of EY.
  • Opportunity to live and work abroad at one of the Dutch desks in other countries early in your career.
  • Define your own career development: focus on a sector, area, topic, or the latest developments.
