Lead Solution Architect

About the Role

Royal Mail Technology is actively seeking to recruit a Solutions Architect with the vision of creating a team of architects that will support the RMG Operations, Commercial, or technology platforms. The Solution Architect will ensure all IT projects within their area are appropriately architected, adherent to best practice and RMG Standards, Principles, and Policies.

The Solution Architect will report to the Director of Architecture and will work with other Solution Architects across the technology organisation. They will ensure that other RMG skillsets are called upon in a timely manner to ensure Projects are engineered consistently regardless of supplier, technology, or methodology used to deliver them.

Skills You Will Need

  • Significant experience of leading teams of Solution Architects and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in systems delivery including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and support.
  • Mastery of defining the technical architecture design principles and planning, design, and implementation of complex systems architectures.
  • Proven experience of large-scale digital transformation.
  • Experience of working with collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience of going through the transformation from Waterfall to Agile delivery methodologies.

Qualifications

  • Architecture training/qualifications e.g. TOGAF, Microsoft Azure certified, AWS certified etc.
  • Agile training/qualifications or experience including Scrum & Kanban.
