As a model builder, you have contact with the business to properly understand their requirements and use cases so that the model complies with their expectations and processes. You also spot opportunities to improve their processes.

You are up-to-date on Anaplan platform developments and think of applications where these developments can be applied at KPN.

With the team, you’re working on models which are built in a consistent way so that other developers can pick up models built by other developers.

What are you going to do?

Within KPN, financial, commercial, and operational insights, together with a reliable forecast, are of great importance for the management of the company at group and segment level. We are currently modernizing this process with the implementation of our models on the Anaplan platform. For this transition and further (new) developments, we are looking for a model builder to strengthen our team.

Together with a team of model builders, you ensure that existing forecast and planning models of the business (mainly in Excel) are translated to Anaplan models and you contribute to improving these models, from a technical, process, and way-of-working perspective. The models are on an operational, tactical, and strategical level. You will work closely with the stakeholders and your other Finance Insights & Analytics (FIA) colleagues.

So, do you want to make an impact with the team within KPN with (financial) forecasting?

Within Finance Insights & Analytics, you work together with approximately 40 developers, data scientists, data engineers, scrum masters, and product owners spread over 5 scrum teams. Those 5 teams are, besides the forecasting team, the Finance analytics, Data, Oracle reporting, and Managed dashboarding team.

The forecasting team consists of a product owner, scrum master, and 6 model builders. The team is international, diverse, and the daily language is English. You will be part of a warm and professional team where hard work and fun is combined.

Our main office is in Rotterdam next to the iconic Erasmus bridge. We work hybrid with a minimum of 2 days a week at the office, Mondays in Rotterdam and Thursday in Amsterdam. You’re also able to work from other KPN offices and working from home is also supported.

For the position of model builder within Finance Insights & Analytics, we ask from you:

• Bachelor or master level degree in a relevant field of study
• Experience with building (financial) forecasting models in Anaplan, or similar applications
• Knowledge of and affinity with financial processes in a corporate environment
• The ability to analyze (financial) processes and translate them into model features
• The ability to challenge your stakeholders and team members in looking for the best solutions
• You are able to explain your solution in layman's terms
• Knowledge of data models

What you can expect from us:

• A gross monthly salary ranging from a minimum of €4,478 to a maximum of €6,734 based on a 37-hour work week, depending on your work experience
• Flexible working hours up to 40 hours per week, potentially increasing your gross salary by up to 8.5%
• A 10.5% allowance on your gross monthly salary (including 8% holiday pay)
• A variable bonus scheme of 7% corresponding to scale 11
• Annual individual and collective salary increases in accordance with our CAO

• Excellent pension conditions: a total contribution of 23% of your pensionable salary, with KPN contributing 16% and you contributing 7%
