Job Description

R&D Technologist Intern – Table Sauces

Start date: September 2024

Duration: 6 months

Platform/Project: EU Table Sauces

Location: Nijmegen

Basic Requirements for all:

  • You should have strong communication skills and fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • You are enrolled at a university for at least 50% study load for the duration of the internship.
  • NOTE: EU working rights are required (Either you have EU Citizenship, you are studying in the Netherlands or have relevant student work visa)

Team: Table Sauces (Tomato Ketchup, Mayonnaise and Condiments)

The position of R&D Technologist Intern in Table Sauces is part of the EU R&D team based in the Innovation Centre in Nijmegen.

Assignment and key activities:

  • Assist in the development and optimization of new and existing products, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards
  • Conduct kitchen and pilot experiments, including formulation, ingredient testing, and product analysis
  • Support sensory evaluation processes, including the preparation and presentation of samples
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance, to ensure successful product launches
  • Document and analyze experimental data, providing insights and recommendations for product launches and improvements
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas for new products and process improvements
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements

Specific Team Requirements:

  • Food Science/ Technology/ Engineering or Natural Sciences (Bio, Biotech, Chemistry) Bachelor or Masters student.
  • Course or interest in business is a plus
  • Course in data handling, statistics is needed
  • You are a self starter and independent worker with good analytical skills and is highly motivated. Scientific driven and hands on with a business mindset and good communication skills.
  • Research and lab experience is a must
