The Role: Microsoft Licensing Specialist

A Microsoft Licensing Specialist is responsible for managing and optimizing the licensing of Microsoft products and services for an organization. They ensure compliance with Microsoft licensing agreements, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide guidance on best practices and strategies for Microsoft licensing.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the current and future Microsoft licensing needs for customer organization and recommend the most suitable and cost-effective licensing solutions.
  • Monitor and track the usage and consumption of Microsoft products and services and ensure compliance with the licensing terms and conditions.
  • Manage and maintain the inventory and documentation of Microsoft licenses and agreements.
  • Coordinate with Microsoft to help customer procure, renew, and terminate Microsoft licenses and subscriptions.
  • Provide training and support to the end-users and stakeholders on Microsoft licensing policies and procedures.
  • Stay updated on the latest Microsoft licensing trends, changes, and updates and communicate them to the relevant parties.
  • Prepare and present reports and analysis on Microsoft licensing performance and optimization.

What We Need to See From You

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in Microsoft licensing management or administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft products and services and their licensing models and options.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in Microsoft Licensing (such as MCP, MCT, or SAM) is preferred.
