At Corbion, we exist to champion preservation in all its forms, preserving food and food production, health, and our planet.

We develop and produce sustainable ingredients for a variety of applications including food, nutrition, medical devices, parma, bioplastics. We have production sites in The Netherlands, the US, Thailand, Brazil, and Spain.

Within Corbion, supply planning is the cornerstone of the end-to-end supply chain planning process. While there are specialized planners working in each functional area across the supply chain – including demand planners, supply schedulers, material planners – it’s the responsibility of the supply planner to bring all these plans together and ensure that the company’s products will be available to meet the demand from the market.

Role Overview

Your responsibility as Supply planner is to determine how to fulfill the demand for our products and meet or exceed our various business and operational goals, such as delivering products on time to customers, reducing manufacturing costs, and meeting revenue and profitability targets. Our Supply planning team creates and executes a supply plan to optimize inventory levels, production schedules and supplier relationships. The goal is to streamline the supply planning and better align with demand, to optimize our working capital and execute inventory decisions that produce the most value.

Each Global Supply planner works hand in hand with one or more local plant(s) and its supply chain team. The Global Supply planner sets the general direction of production and dynamically sets target stock levels to meet future demand whereas the local supply chain teams (scheduling and material planning) manage the short horizon by predicting the effects of changes in production, interruptions, machine breakdowns, scraps and other factors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Maintaining optimal inventory levels to balance the cost of carrying inventory with service level goals.
  • Supply Planning: Developing and executing supply plans that ensure product availability across the global network considering optimization of the manufacturing cost and maximizing the output of the production facilities. Focus for this team is on the 2-24 month horizon.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with external manufacturers (tollers) to secure the best terms and ensure supply reliability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with the local supply chain and operations teams in the plants, finance, and product managers to align supply chain strategies with business objectives. Partner with the end-to-end project managers, demand planners and logistics teams as the direct colleagues within the global supply chain team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying and implementing process improvements, system enhancements and suggesting optimizations in value stream design to increase efficiency and reduce costs in the supply chain. Ensure planning parameters, such as safety stock settings and lead times, are up to date.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could disrupt the supply chain. In times of supply disruptions, step up to lead the relevant stakeholders through the crisis. Model "What-if" scenarios and propose optimized solutions based on variable demand and supply conditions.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilizing supply chain data to enable the creation of reports and analytics that support decision-making and performance tracking. Track performance by monitoring KPIs and take action to course correct if needed.
