At Vanderlande, we design, develop and install baggage handling systems for (large) airports. An important part of these systems is IT software that is used for planning, automated transport, monitoring and control.

Our customers are expecting regular updates and new features. To support this, we have started to make our software easier to deploy and configure and more open to extensions. This requires refactoring, migrating to a new technology stack, and in some cases rebuilding. At the same time, we still need to accommodate new features.

What will you be doing?

You are Senior Test (Automation) Engineer with interest for and experience with (automated) testing. Together with the other testers in the team you are responsible for testing of the Universal Destination Server (UDS) software, and you work together with the development team in order to automate the end-to-end system integration scenarios.

What do we ask from you?

  • Minimal three years work experience in testing domain
  • Min. Bachelors or equivalent degree holder in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or relevant studies
  • Strong experience in agile, exploratory and context-driven testing.
  • Write test cases based on given requirements.
  • Evaluate and write automation test scripts.
  • Participate in improving the test automation framework (knowledge of C#, Specflow or Cucumber).
  • Good communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Good interpersonal skills (work well within an agile scrum team).
  • Strong analytical abilities, and able to put forward recommendations.
  • Can work unsupervised, take initiative and resolve issues.

Preferred: Working experience in the logistics domain.

Additionally you should also have the following qualifications / have a working knowledge of:

  • Certified Agile Tester (CAT) or
  • Certified Practitioner in Agile Testing (PAC/CPAT) or
  • Rapid Software Testing Explored

About the team

We are currently hiring for this position in Project Software development and DCS Airports (VIBES) departments. This respective departments develop, deliver and maintain High Level Control (HLC) software for all industry units within Vanderlande. This software is used within hundreds of sites worldwide. Within the Parcel domain this software implements the business logic in parcel sortation systems and forms the part of our systems that interact with the end-users. It assists the customer in doing operational and strategic planning, dashboarding, reporting and analysis. It also provides workstation and operator access on the work floor.
