Graduate Software Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for talented engineers to join the Reliability Data Platform. At Uber, we provide centralized, reliable, and interactive observability solutions to support the overall reliability of Uber engineering. The Reliability Data Platform team at Uber plays a critical role in developing the backbone of Uber’s engineering metrics systems. Our team is dedicated to constructing robust applications that enable other teams to monitor and manage their metrics such as service level agreements (SLAs).

Our engineering culture is the same across all our engineering offices: in Amsterdam, this is no different from San Francisco or our other locations. Amsterdam is one of the largest engineering offices outside of our Bay Area headquarters. As a diverse group, with hardworking people from over 30 countries working together.

Engineers working at Uber are highly autonomous, involved in decisions impacting the business and systems. We are big on constructive code reviews, accompany business logic with automated tests and have robust deployment and beta testing processes in place. We balance code and architecture quality with good execution speed, supporting the continued growth of Uber.

What You'll do:

• Design and build scalable and robust applications, ensuring they meet our long-term business needs.
• Play a critical part in our development team, responsible for the entire lifecycle of our software products from initial concept to deployment.
• Gather user requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications and architecture designs.
• Work closely with a diverse set of teams and executives to define and extract valuable metrics that drive decision-making and performance across the organization.
• Conduct rigorous code reviews to ensure high code quality, provide constructive feedback to peers, and uphold and elevate coding standards throughout the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• Recently graduated from a relevant degree (B.Sc, M.Sc) in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• Experience coding with C++, Java, Python, or Go
