Make your mark as Project Controller for our Offshore Energy Division and take charge of the financial settlement and reporting of our projects. From the moment a project is awarded, you will step in and seamlessly take over from the sales and tendering department.

As Project Controller at Heavy Marine Transport, you will work on extraordinary projects involving the transportation of the largest and most valuable assets across the oceans with our semi-submersible heavy transport vessels. Collaborating closely with Project Managers and Engineers, you will serve as the financial sparring partner and conscience of the project teams. Your insights and advice will shape the financial aspects of the projects, making a tangible impact on their outcomes. Join Boskalis and be part of an organization that handles the most extraordinary cargos around the world with projects such as the dry docking of the cruise ship Carnival Vista on Boka Vanguard and the transportation of a gigantic fish farm, the largest cargo ever transported by ship. All ‘one of a kind’ and Discovery Channel worthy projects that often receive media exposure.

Your responsibilities as Project Controller are:

  • Being a true crew member in your project teams.
  • Setting up the financial and administrative organization for your projects.
  • Converting the tender budget into the work budget on behalf of the Project Manager and in consultation with the Engineering Department.
  • Keeping accounts, drawing up, and analyzing Budget Control Reports.
  • Handling international tax-related obligations (returns) for your projects in consultation with our Tax Manager.
  • Pointing out and reporting risks/deadlines/contractual obligations (particularly financial).
  • You provide the business with solicited and unsolicited advice in the financial field, and you act as business partner for the Project Manager.
  • Give your support during the annual (financial) audits.

Your qualities and experience as a Project Controller are:

  • At least 2 years’ relevant work experience as a Project Controller or similar.
  • At least a bachelor's degree in the field of Finance.
  • Experience in the maritime/offshore sector or technical manufacturing industry is seen as an advantage but not a must.
  • A flexible workstyle to handle pressure in an always dynamic and changing environment, solid analytical skills, and the ability to handle stress.
  • A good command of written and spoken English. (Dutch is a plus).

We offer

  • A dynamic environment: A job where you can make an impact, as part of a diverse, international team of experts.
  • Rewarding conditions: A competitive salary and much more, including holiday allowance, holiday entitlement of 26 days (based on a full-time contract) plus an extra 5 designated days, a non-contributory pension scheme, collective schemes such as company health insurance, travel allowance.
  • Career development: We offer you plenty of opportunities to bring out the best in yourself, for example through (online) courses at our Boskalis academy.
  • The Boskalis campus: Experience the unique Boskalis vibe at our Papendrecht site, complete with restaurants, sports field, and a wharf where our vessels dock. We offer a state-of-the-art auditorium, brainstorming rooms, experience center for client meetings, and a barista corner where you can connect with colleagues.
  • Young Boskalis: Are you under 36? Come and join Young Boskalis! Have fun and join in social and sports activities ranging from pub quizzes to yoga, bootcamps and an annual sailing boat race. Networking and knowledge sharing are a vital part of Young Boskalis as well.

Extra information

  • Your team: You are part of Offshore Energy’s pool of Project Controllers but work specifically for the Business Unit Heavy Marine Transport. A total of 3 Project Controllers work solely for the Heavy Marine Transport projects. Within this Business unit you report to the Business Unit Controller. Mostly, of course, you will be part of project teams and work together with a Project Manager and several Engineers.
  • Where you will work: For office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and your team, you work partly at home and partly in the office.
  • Full/part-time job: The position of Project Controller is a full-time (40 hours a week) job.
