We are looking for a highly motivated research technician with exceptional laboratory skills and experience to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related field and strong experience in molecular and cellular techniques, such as DNA cloning, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, immunofluorescence, RNA FISH, and microscopy. Prior experience with cell culture, especially iPSCs, is a plus.
Our research focuses on studying neurodevelopmental disorders using human iPSCs as a model system. This involves using CRISPR-Cas9 for gene editing and generating various reporter cell lines. Our methodologies include FACS, colony picking, expansion, and characterization of cell lines, as well as neuronal differentiation, proteomics, and genomic analysis. Joining our team offers opportunities for professional growth and learning. The role involves close collaboration with a PhD and a Master's student, conducting cell culture experiments and laboratory assays, and analyzing data. The candidate will also assist and train students, demonstrating strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Weekend duty of 1-2 times per month for a few hours to maintain cell cultures is required.

The candidate will be appointed at the department of Developmental Biology in the research team of dr. C. Gontan Pardo. The group uses a multidisciplinary approach to advance the understanding of human X chromosome inactivation and X-linked neurodevelopmental disorders.
The department of Developmental Biology performs basic research and is involved in several teaching and training programs. We aim to unravel the epigenetic mechanisms regulating cell fate decisions in the cycle of life, and to translate this knowledge to understand deregulations that may occur in X-linked diseases, cancer, infertility, and aging.
