What we’re looking for

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Technical Directorate team. This internship offers unique opportunity to contribute to the development of industry knowhow of shipping pressure on the Marine environment and gain experience with exposure to different key stakeholders.

The role

  • Draft/contribute to the white paper, publications ‘impact on UWRN on the marine environment’.
  • Identify ‘biodiversity indicators’ for ship operations.
  • Foster the concept of ‘Citizen scientist’ on board vessels.
  • Contribute to the discussion of the possible impact of CBD, BBNJ, UN Plastic treaty, and other national/regional environmental regulations on shipping.

What you bring

  • Postgraduate level academic qualification in a Marine Environmental Science subject (working towards completing Master's or PhD)
  • General knowledge of the dry and wet side of shipping.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages: Word, Outlook, ppt (as a minimum)
  • Good writing and drafting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Seagoing experience is desirable.
  • Experience with scientific research is desirable.
