As our Technical Writer you are responsible for researching and creating, writing and maintaining technical documents, for instance user manuals, Technical Data, Marketing Specifications and Solution Specifications. You will create the 2D/3D illustrations in the technical documents, using the 3D model of the Engineer. Furthermore, the Technical Writer participate in the development (PDP) process of a machine/system with focus on these documents. In addition, you will also participate in departmental improvement projects or Marel global pro-jects. Sometimes this will be as a member of a project team, sometimes as a project leader.

The job will be full time but we are also very open to candidates with the willingness to work 32 hours per week with the flexible working hours.

What you'll be doing

  • Create content for the technical documents using Adobe FrameMaker in accordance with the style guide
  • Create 2D/3D illustrations for the technical documents, using the 2D/3D application software SAP Visual Enterprise Author and Adobe Illustrator
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, such as Engineers and Product Specialists within Sales and Service
  • Follow and respect the development (PDP) process
  • Create and maintain the templates and standard building blocks
  • Motivate product experts to transfer and share their knowledge
  • Publish the technical documents in the relevant databases
  • Contribute in improving the departmental processes or the Marel global processes

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent technical knowledge or a bachelor degree English or Communications with experience in technical writing
  • Have knowledge of the Machinery Regulation and ISO 20607
  • Have knowledge of and/or experience in the use of 2D/3D application software and authoring tools
  • Have the ability to write understandable content regarding technically complicated machines and software
  • Have the ability to convert complex processes into clear and instructive illustrations
  • Ability to understand the operational, technological and technical aspects of food processing machinery.
  • Have very good English writing and verbal skills. Knowledge of Simplified Technical English and terminologie is a plus
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the use of Component Content Management Systems (CCMS)
  • Experience with topic-oriented, structured writing, preferably in DITA
  • Experience as a project leader in small and medium-sized projects
