Telecoms department is part of Air France KLM Group IT and covers all technical domains linked to network (WAN, LAN, DC LAN, mobile networks) and telecommunications (data, voice, videoconferencing). Air France KLM Connectivity department is part of Air France KLM TELECOMS department, responsible for LAN, Wireless, IOT, transversal network security and some connected aircraft products.

Our customers are all KLM staff working in Amsterdam Schiphol airport area – all of them need connectivity in order to process their work, using different kind of devices: laptops, ipads but also specialized rugged devices or vehicles needing mobile connectivity.You as responsible for these network services will play a key role in our team, managing a portfolio of technical services used daily by thousands of KLM staff on the ground or in the air: wired and wireless connectivity (including WIFI and data mobile).

What will you do?

You will represent the technical services across the organization, for the delivery, the run and the evolution. You will be responsible for end-to-end Service management of wired and wireless networks. The scope is all about end point connectivity for all kind of devices, necessary for all staff in Schiphol airport to process their daily work. For example, wireless connectivity services for KLM cabin crew using their iPads on our planes (3G/4G/5G or Wifi) or automated guided vehicles by Wifi in Cargo hangars.

You will be a knowledgeable referent about your portfolio of services and could advice businesses on the existing Connectivity products to fit their needs. You are the one organizing the portfolio of technical services within ServiceNow.

In more details: services quality and SLA/KPI follow-up of our providers like KPN, Schiphol Group, TATA, service delivery to our customers, customer relationship to collect their needs, life cycle roadmap of our network equipments to manage obsolescence of our infrastructures, process leaning and improvements to deliver services on time to the different businesses.

You will both work on Service Life (Continuity - running Services) and Service creation (Innovation - building Services), depending on the work-allocation. Our Telecoms organization like all our divisions, is currently moving to the Agile way of working. An opportunity for you to be part of the overall transformation plan of KLM Air France Group !

Where do you land?

The Connectivity team is located in Point of View building at Schiphol. It’s a team of 5 to 6 people, including architects, project managers and network engineers. This team is part of an AFKL joint team with colleagues located in France (Paris and Toulouse). Great opportunity to work in an international and multi-cultural environment!

In total, the Connectivity department is about 30 staff. It’s an engineering department, designing and maintaining connectivity solutions that are deployed and supported by third parties and Deployment teams. So mainly level 3 activities. You will work in standard office hours – daily support of the technical services is operated H24 7/7 by third parties. You will report directly to the GroupIT Connectivity manager. This manager is located in Paris.

Your profile

You are customer oriented and eager to organize tasks in order to deliver connectivity services to KL & AFKL businesses on time, with the needed level of quality. Furthermore, you have;

  • A Bachelors / HBO / Masters degree
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and quality framework
  • Knowledge of ITSM tooling like ServiceNow
  • A Technical background on LAN and Wifi networks. 3G/4G Data mobile networks.
  • Project lead skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Fluency in English (both orally and in writing)
  • No issue with travelling between various AF/KL sites
