As a Barclays Structured Transactions Group (STG) Controller, you will have general oversight responsibility for transactions executed by the STG team impacting the Intermediate Holding Company (IHC) – the regulatory entity in the US - and Barclays Group. This includes stakeholder management and review of work produced by the STG Finance team. This is an opportunity to be the key point of contact for the STG desk and will be expected to proactively manage those relationships.

What will you be doing?

Reviewing the team output, including completion of internal controls


Having full stakeholder management of FO (UK Lux or US), IHC Financial Control, US & local Regulatory reporting and tax


Revieing and project management of the Finance side of new transaction implementation, including booking methodology and technical review


Managing the month-end close timetables and deliverables to ensure that the reporting of the results of the area are delivered in a timely manner to all stakeholders both internal & external.


Preparing regulatory submissions, financial statement and audit process, we have annual commitment to submit deliver annual financial statements that have been audited by KPMG


Aiding in the valuation review of the Principal Investment book on a semi-annual basis


Interacting with the wider Finance team, as the role encompasses the full financial control function for several entities within the group


Liaising with members of Financial Control and Regulatory Reporting, ensuring correct submission of the returns for the STG and that Tax returns are correctly reflected in the ledgers

What we’re looking for:

Qualified accountant, or equivalent technical knowledge and experience, including a solid grasp of IFRS and other GAAPs would be advantageous


Significant experience within Finance roles, encompassing Financial Control and/or Product Control including a knowledge of control environments


Highly numerate with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills


Ability to pick up new concepts quickly, to apply technical knowledge to new projects and to adapt to a dynamic environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

Knowledge of the Tax and Regulatory environment


Excellent knowledge of various financial products


Proven ability to comprehend and actively engage with stakeholders


Knowledge and experience using Barclays system
