Role Title:Regional Risk Technology LeadLocation: Prague, Czech Republic

Overall purpose of role

This role is responsible for managing the technology teams in Prague and will be part for the Wholesale Risk Leadership team, reporting into the CIO for Wholesale Risk. The core responsibilities will be to increase our execution efficiency and risk domain experience within the engineering community within the region, The role will also help drive the build out of our target state for the domain and migrate our operating model to Scaled AGILE.

Key Accountabilities

Leading the platform engineers to drive our platform convergence towards our target state.

Ensure we have clearly defined functional and technical roadmaps to drive this convergence over the next 3-5 years.

Build the right engineering skills in the location to increase the velocity and predictability of delivery.

Ensure we increase the robustness and reliability of the platforms, partnering with run-the-bank to improve site reliability

Increase the level of knowledge of risk SME within the teams in this region.

Key skills and experience

Programming background with core experience in a core programming language such as C/C++ or JAVA.

Experience of building high distributed and scalable platforms with experience in building grid based or highly multi-threaded applications.

Risk domain experience in one or more of the main asset classes: Interest Rate, Equity, FX and/or Commodities.

Knowledge of AGILE SDLC methodologies and common software design patterns.

Senior stakeholder management experience with the leadership skills to build credible relationships with relevant stakeholders inRisk, Front Office Trading, Product Control and other relevant parts of Technology.

Experience of leading large scale teams of 100+ staff.

Person Specification

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field

C-level experience preferred

Experienced operating and leading within a global organization

Strong general operational expertise

Change management skills, particularly around improving the customer experience

Strong leadership skills, demonstrated in a global, matrixed environment

Inspirational leadership style, exhibiting drive and determination and demonstrating resilience in the face of adversity

Team player; able to develop and build great relationships with stakeholders, and to manage and deliver results through collaboration / influence in a matrix environment.
