About the Walk to Work (W2W) Academy

The W2W Academy sets the standard in creating gangway training programs to ensure safe & efficient offshore access for Ampelmann’s and our client’s personnel. As a team, we make sure that we provide trained and competent Gangway Operators to all Ampelmann projects globally. The W2W Academy develops training programmes in a modular built and innovative way for the entire fleet of Ampelmann systems, with a clear focus on “On The Job-experience”.

The team currently consists of three Project Managers, two Training Coordinators and two Work Students and is led by the Manager W2W Academy, to whom you will report. Surrounding this ‘core team’ is a group of dedicated Operator Trainers, responsible for the execution of the training programmes, both onshore and offshore.

Your role as Sr. Project Manager Education – Offshore Academy

In this role, you will oversee and manage significant changes and projects within the W2W Academy, fundamentally transforming the set-up of our Gangway Operator training programs. Your key responsibilities include setting up & managing external certification processes, developing effective learning programs in our simulators, and setting a new industry-wide standard for Gangway Operator training. This role involves defining project scope, deliverables, and requirements, along with creating and monitoring planning milestones and budgets. The Sr. Project Manager Education will liaise with various internal and external stakeholders. Success in this role demands effective time and priority management, structured collaboration, and leading others to implement project plans successfully. The primary objectives include restructuring learning programs for certification of the W2W Academy and enhancing our training simulator to become a comprehensive training tool with structured learning activities.

Regular activities

  • Lead and manage significant projects within the W2W Academy, such as obtaining external certifications and creating a certified training simulator.
  • Continuously improve existing learning programs and design new ones, ensuring they are effective and didactically tailored to our specific target groups.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, keeping them informed and involved in project progress.
  • Align with team and stakeholders on training program requirements and ensure quality and control throughout the project.

We ask

  • BSc/MSc degree in Educational Science, Psychology or similar education and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in practical/technical educational or training programs and certification.
  • Strong in stakeholder management, having a result-oriented mindset and a can-do attitude.
  • Experience in the offshore industry or a related sector is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English; proficient in Dutch as well is a plus.
