What will you be doing?

Contributing to the design, development and implementation of a centralised secure, scalable and efficient Permissions plarform


Inputting and contributing to the technical roadmap for the evolution of the group wide Permissions platform


Ensuring the highest levels of platform security and compliance are adhered to


Identifying issues and providing feedback and suggestions on operational and process improvements within the team and more broadly across the function


Engaging with partners across the bank and contributing to digital journeys innovation using the platform’s Permissions capabilities, demonstrating inner source culture


Demonstrating hands-on engineering-led innovation and implementations to both the team and the wider tech community


Collaborating with diverse partners, engineering teams, business stakeholders, security, compliance, external partners to achieve positive outcomes for customers and colleagues

What we’re looking for:

Solid experience in full stack development web and mobile front-end technologies such as React, Java, APIs & microservices, PostgreSQL, data structures, workflow


Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering, automation, observability, incident management, resilience, disaster recovery, high availability, documentation


Policy Management experience (XACML, Open Policy Agent, OPA Gateways, OPA debugging and testing, Rego policy language, Styra DAS, Permit.io), CI/CD approaches and technologies


Experience in Implementation of Role Based Access Control and Policy Based Access Control (Attribute Based Access Control) systems in Mandatory Access, Discretionary Access

Skills that will help you in the role:

Experience in DevSecOps, secure coding best practices, defensive programming, security testing, data security, network security, cloud security, security compliance and regulations


Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Ansible, Terraform and Containerisation, Docker, Kubernetes


Experience in AWS and Azure cloud component and services integration (RDS/ Azure DB, S3/ Azure Blob)


Understanding of Workflow Tools: IBM BAW, jBPM and CI/CD: GitLab, Jenkins, Chef,Git

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations.
